If you have upcoming travel plans on Vistara, here are some things to watch out for which will help ensure a seamless travel experience as Air India and Vistara merge into a unified airline on November 12.
With Vistara merging into Air India on November 12, 2024, Air India has undertaken multiple initiatives to ensure a smooth and hassle-free transition for customers.
1) A new code ‘AI2’: After the merger, the same world-class Vistara inflight experience that customers have come to love will continue. The routes and schedule operated by Vistara will also continue to be the same. The Vistara aircraft that will be operated by Air India will be identified by a special four-digit Air India code beginning with the digit “2”. For instance, UK 955 will become AI 2955, helping customers easily identify the same while booking on www.airindia.com after November 12.
2) Assistance at various touch points at domestic airports: At metro city airports, before the terminal entry, helpdesk kiosks will be deployed at the curb side. Customer support staff wearing Air India x Vistara branded t-shirts will be around and happy to help if customers have any queries. Air India is also closely working with airport security personnel to guide customers with old Vistara tickets to the nearest help desk or to Air India customer support staff. Flight Information Display Screens (FIDS) and standees will be placed at the airport to aid customers to locate the Air India check-in counters. Progressively, Vistara airport ticketing offices and Vistara check-in terminals will become Air India.
3) Self-service kiosks: All self-service kiosks will bear a customer advisory- “For Vistara flights under code AI2, please select Air India for check-in starting 12-Nov-2024.”
4) Assistance at international airports: At international airports, customers should look out for support staff wearing Air India x Vistara branded t-shirts should they need any help. Directions and information for customers will be placed near check-in desks at all relevant airports
5) Call centre support: Customers calling the Vistara contact centre will be automatically directed to Air India representatives, who will ensure a seamless experience during this transition.
The unified Air India opens up limitless possibilities including unparalleled connection to over 90 domestic and international destinations and over 800 more destinations through codeshare and interline partners. And Air India is committed to providing customers with the best of both airlines as it moves ahead in its journey of becoming a world-class airline with an Indian heart.
